MEAN WORLD!!

A little outburst to how I see things lacking selflessness these days.. How we could realise it and improve with just a little consideration on our part.. Just a little would do a whole lot to the society..

I miss selflessness.. I know, majority of the audience is hardly going to coincide with my thought points, but I need to point this one out..

These days, being self-centred and inconsiderate is something that we’ve become pretty much used to of.. People care firstly for themselves, then for others. That too mostly for their loved ones “only”, in the second place. Otherwise, nobody else in the second place, which is the most painful thing to experience..

Remember those vehicles approaching in your direction on the other side of the road, with their headlights set at high beam settings in dark? (Yes, they needed a mention.)

I recently read a quote saying, “Surround yourself with people who uplift you or encourage you..”

Okay, self-care is important. Much agreed, ’cause you need to look after yourself and your loved ones, with your career, etc. No doubt about the optimistic intent of such quotes and the direction they exist to point in. But it’s often misunderstood..

People choose selfish levels of Self-care. The Fine line between self-care and selfishness has to be understood.

In Hindu Dharma, company is given immense importance for one’s upliftment and shaping of character. Our choice of company defines our mindset and behavioural set that is defined on a daily basis.

But it’s nowhere been written or stated that, in the name of good company, one should denounce compassion and love for the friends who need a little hand to come up!

Even if we talk about the above statements, you’re being on the lower side of being influenced or needing positive vibes for upliftment. So, should the company you choose denounce you or abandon you, considering you for a sluggish choice on their part? (’cause they too stand in the position of choosing their company!!)

Hence, compassion is a very important factor, that unites us for a cause, for MUTUAL UPLIFTMENT. In order to care for self upliftment, denouncing the loved ones, who hope for your love, care and support to heal on their levels, should be seen for a crime and be avoided..

Self care holds good at its place. It cannot be approached as selfishness. Suppose, you don’t drink alcohol. But your best friend does, excessively. So, it doesn’t mean that you would simply mind your own business and let him die for good, as per his choice. ‘Cause that least puts you in an authority to call yourself the best friend of that person! Do what the least is possible on your part.. Advice him on regular basis, as per your relation, so as to make him realise in a peaceful way and save him. Now, how much does it take to remind a person such a silly and small, yet important and life-saving thing??

That’s compassion! That’s mutual upliftment!! Takes almost nothing, but might give a better life to someone..

Heal among yourselves.. Upliftment should be for all!! Of course, our privacy matters, our distances matter in the name of self-care. But abandoning relations completely? I don’t think such immaculate costs are required to be paid.. You came by those few out of a total of 7+ billion people!! Whom are you kidding???

People today least bother. All they see is their own good, PROFITS, Safety and least take in account the other person’s position in the scenario…

Pity on us as a society, if we nurture selfish values, totally dead inside and abandon selflessness, as if it never existed..

If our mother nature can give us so much and set innumerable examples, why can’t we share with selflessness?
